As a registered Building Practitioner, DPAD 25277, with over 50 years experience in residential and commercial building design, Helmut has helped numerous clients – many of whom have been owner builders – to translate their dreams into reality.
History
Helmut’s involvement with Building Biology started in 1990 when one of his clients asked for a breathable interior wall finish. His research, together with his practical involvement with the building program at the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School, led him to use natural paints. This increased his interest in further research of building biology which had its origins in Germany.
In 1991 Helmut Wintergerst launched Bio Building Services to specifically help clients to provide healthier and more sustainable buildings.
BBNA
As a founding member of Building Biology Network of Australia in 2006, Helmut was instrumental in the establishment of a network of trained professional Building Biologists practicing in nearly every State of Australia.
